Out Front Theatre Company - Georgia's only LGBTQIA+ professional theatre company - will open its eighth season with the Tony Award-nominated musical THE PROM, with Book by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, Music by Matthew Sklar, and Lyrics by Beguelin, running October 26 through November 11, 2023.

Actor's Express opens its 32nd season with Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Award winner Joshua Harmon's blistering new comedy Skintight running September 18 – October 13, 2019.

Actor's Express opens its 32nd season with Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Award winner Joshua Harmon's blistering new comedy Skintight running September 18 a?" October 13, 2019. Directed by Actor's Express Artistic Director Freddie Ashley, Skintight hilariously excoriates America's obsession with youth, sex and physical beauty. Playwright Harmon has a long history with Actor's Express, having served as the theatre's National New Play Network Playwright in Residence in 2010. Since that time, Actor's Express has produced Harmon's hits Bad Jews (2015) and Significant Other (2016).

Out Front Theatre Company is closing out a spectacular second season with Del Shores' Sordid Lives. Hitting the stage May 3-20, the theater's rendition of the classic comedy will reflect the current times and bring a new spin to the show with an all African American cast portraying the Sordid Lives family members for the first time in the show's history!

Alliance Theatre takes HAND TO GOD on the road at Dad's Garage.

The Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce the Atlanta premiere of HAND TO GOD, the irreverent puppet comedy that was a 2015 Tony Award nominee for Best Play and the most produced play in American regional theater last season. Marc Masterson, Artistic Director of South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California, directs this darkly delightful (The New York Times) production. HAND TO GOD explores the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us. Performances are October 20 November 12, 2017 at Dad's Garage while the Alliance Theatre undergoes a complete renovation. Opening night is Wednesday, October 25.

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2016-2017 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 18, to patrons and industry artists.

CAKEWALK is an official selection of the 2017 Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival. With lyrics and a book by Beverly Trader Austin and mucic by Bryan Mercer, the new musical will have its world premiere on July 31 at Out Front Theatre.
