BRETT SCHRIER is an accomplished composer, music director, and vocal coach in New York City.
Brett attended The Boston Conservatory, where he pioneered a program and graduated with a degree in Music Direction for the Musical Theatre. Since graduation, Brett has worked in music and theatre venues across the world.
As one of New York's "most talented upcoming writers," Brett has written and developed three full-length musicals. TAKE TWO! THE ONLINE DATING MUSICAL! earned rave reviews during a World Premiere Production at Northern Stage. He also composed the original score for the stage adaptation of MR. POPPER'S PENGUINS, which is licensed by Plays For Young Audiences, and produced by various companies around the world. His newest project, TIME BETWEEN US, won Critic's Pick Award in the New York Musical Theatre Festival, premiered regionally at Serenbe Playhouse, and is currently in development for an Off-Broadway run. Brett wrote music, book, & lyrics for TIME BETWEEN US, which is already being called 'one of the most thought-provoking, cutting edge pieces of musical theatre this decade.'
Brett's recent musical directing/conducting credits include: I LOVE YOU...YOU'RE PERFECT...NOW CHANGE, 42ND STREET (National Tour), HAIRSPRAY (National Tour), LES MISERABLES, CATS, MISS SAIGON, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and A CHORUS LINE. His arrangements are frequently heard in concerts, cabarets and recordings across the world, and his work is continually performed at distinguished New York City venues: Ars Nova, Joe's Pub, The Duplex, and The Knitting Factory.
Brett served as Music Director for Broadway In South Africa, Broadway Under The Stars in Sonoma, SCOOBY-DOO LIVE! (Warner Bros/Life Like Touring), and CHUGGINGTON (produced by Disney Channel/Life Like Touring). Brett is also Vocal Director for Royal Caribbean Productions.
Brett is Founding Director of Broadway Playground, a program providing the nation's top training opportunities in cities across the country. He is a proud member of ASCAP, The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

San Diego Junior Theatre, with a mission to provide engaging, innovative, high-quality theatre education and productions for children of all cultural heritages, ages, abilities and levels of interest continues its 70th Anniversary Season with a production of Mr. Popper's Penguins, directed by Ricardo Valenzuela. Mr. Popper's Penguins is based on the novel by Richard and Florence Atwater. Books and Lyrics are by Jody Davidson and music by Brett Schrier. The production will showcase the work of San Diego Junior Theatre youth performers and youth technicians, ranging in age from 8 to18. The production runs from June 29th - July 15th.

Broadway in South Africa Holds Final Program with Chicago Children's Choir this Month
Since 2009, Broadway South Africa has conducted empowerment through the arts programming in disadvantaged communities throughout South Africa. The organization has raised close to $500,000, helping to improve the lives and future's of student's dramatically affected by poverty, violence, abuse, and HIV/AIDS.

Florida Studio Theatre's tribute to the toe-tapping sounds that brought Americans to their feet, Urban Cowboys, has once again been extended and will now play until April 6. The boot-scootin' revue opened in Florida Studio Theatre's (FST) John C. Court Cabaret on Friday, January 4 at 7:30pm.
