A.R.T.'s THE GLASS MENAGERIE to Transfer to Broadway This Spring?

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) is currently presenting Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, directed by Tony Award-winning director John Tiffany. Multiple Tony and Emmy Award winner Cherry Jones returns to the A.R.T. to play Amanda Wingfield, and is joined by Zachary Quinto as Tom, Celia Keenan-Bolger as Laura, and Brian J. Smith as the Gentleman Caller.
Now according to the New York Times, New York producers are currently working with A.R.T. to bring the show to Broadway. According to an insider, 'if a financial deal can be struck, the timing of the transfer would depend on a Broadway theater vacancy.'

The Glass Menagerie is Tennessee Williams' poetic masterpiece, anchored by the ageing southern belle Amanda Wingfield, who hopes for her son Tom to fulfill her dreams of finding the perfect "gentleman caller" for her shy and damaged daughter Laura. This production marks the A.R.T.'s first foray into the world of Tennessee Williams. It began performances on February 2 at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge and runs through Sunday, March 17, 2013.
