Bell, the writer who brought us Gut Bucket Blues and Hot Mikado.

The gripping re-imagining of events the night before the assassination of civil rights leader DR. Martin Luther King, Jr. After delivering one of his most memorable speeches, an exhausted Dr. King retires to his room at the Lorraine Motel while a storm rages outside. When a mysterious stranger arrives with some surprising news, King is forced to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people.

Written by August Wilson

In 1969 the Hill District is gentrifying, threatening the cultural heart of black Pittsburgh. Slated for demolition is Memphis' diner, the last refuge for a makeshift family of wounded souls who have all but given up. It takes a newcomer named Sterling - a young convict with a heart that lives up to his name - to change the rules of the game. Unknowingly, the regulars take up a fight that carries them headlong into the Civil Rights Movement. Two Trains Running is an inspiring story about the protest that changed a nation.

Shakin' the Rafters
Written and Directed by David H. Bell
Music by Robert Deason
July 12 - August 4, 2013
Previews: July 9 - 11, 2013
Venue: 14th Street Playhouse, 173 14th Street, Atlanta, Ga.

The story of the four Simmons sisters - a gospel group touring the South in 1963. When they attempt to win the South East Gospel Convention for the honor of singing for DR. Martin Luther King, Jr in Washington D.C., family rivalries, secrets, and resentments erupt during the stress of the competition. Yet, in spite of all their tensions, disappointments, and triumphs, they always find their way back to each other through the music they sing.
