As the holidays approach and frigid temperatures begin to appear in Atlanta, one might not expect to be planning for summer entertainment, but Theater of the Stars has, and they hope Atlanta patrons will begin to do the same. Working hard to put together a varied lineup of shows for next year at the Fox Theatre has been top priority for the folks at Theater of the Stars, and BroadwayWorld was able to get the scoop on what they have in store for Atlanta audiences next year.

"We are very excited about the 2010 season, mostly because it is the right combination of diverse musical theatre tastes and mainstream entertainment.", said Nick Manos, President of Theater of the Stars.  "We have focused on the entertainment aspect of the season, primarily because of the economic situation we all seem to be in these days".  Manos and Theater of the Stars (TOTS) looked to present shows in 2010 with a hopeful message, shows that are enjoyable and entertaining for the whole family, and judging by the schedule, they have succeeded in doing just that.

"In times when people have to make choices about their money it is important to know what you are buying" says Manos, so TOTS looked for strongly branded shows that are recognizable and will provide patrons with what they have come to expect from the group: high quality entertainment. That high quality entertainment will take shape during 2010 in the form of 6 very different, but very exciting offerings:

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE - Tuesday, June 15 through Sunday, June 20, 2010
"We are very excited to be presenting Little House on the Prairie as the first show of our season", says Manos.  "The production, starring Melissa Gilbert as Ma, has been a success on the road over the last two years and has generated excitement wherever it has played."  TOTS will be giving Atlanta audiences a chance to experience the world premier of this familiar, yet all-new production in June.

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - Tuesday, June 29 through Sunday, July 25, 2010
Theater of the Stars will be teaming with Broadway Across America - Atlanta to present The Phantom of the Opera as the second show of the season. This hugely popular show has proven to be a hit with Atlanta audiences over the years and is a favorite of a wide variety of theater-goers, young and old.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC - Tuesday, August 24 through Sunday, August 29, 2010
The third production of the season will be a Theater of the Stars produced mounting of the perennial favorite, The Sound of Music. "This production will be as faithful a re-creation of the original show as possible," says Manos. "The Sound of Music has always been a popular choice for Atlanta audiences, not just because of the songs and the story, but also because of the young people involved in the show."

Blue Man Group - Tuesday, September 7 through Sunday, September 12, 2010
Next up in the lineup will be a World Premier Tour of the highly unique and entertaining Blue Man Group.  Atlanta will be the first stop on a completely new tour and TOTS is excited to have this engaging show as part of their season next year.

9 TO 5 - The Musical - Tuesday, September 28 through Sunday, October 3, 2010
The Fox Theater will serve as the second stop on the first World Tour of 9 to 5 - The Musical, recently coming off a successful run on Broadway. "We have been interested in this show for years." Says Manos, "I think Dolly Parton is a breath of fresh air to the world of musical theatre and you can tell she really believes in the show. We are thrilled to be presenting this show as part of our season".

Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS - Tuesday, November 2 through Sunday, November 7, 2010
The final show in the 2010 TOTS season will be the holiday favorite, Irving Berlin's White Christmas. This production has proven to be a popular show on the road and in its recent Broadway production. Atlanta audiences will get the chance to take in this holiday favorite at the close of the season.

All in all, Theater of the Stars has succeeded in delivering a wide variety of popular and entertaining shows to please Atlanta-audiences next year. And if the variety wasn't enough, TOTS is also prepared to give the patrons some choices of their own. "Since the emphasis this year is on providing our patrons with the entertainment they seek, we are prepared to provide a satisfaction guarantee," said Manos. "If someone buys season tickets and aren't satisfied they can cancel and get a full refund for the remaining shows in the season". But that choice isn't the only one TOTS is providing. New this year, season ticket holders will also be given the opportunity to switch out tickets for one show. "So, if someone has already seen one of the shows or doesn't necessarily want to see one particular show they will be allowed to swap out those tickets for another show in the season or even for one of the special shows (yet to be announced)".
