Pianist Marc-André Hamelin will make his Atlanta Symphony Orchestra debut playing Beethoven's Concerto No. 4 May 2 and 4, at 8:00 p.m. and May 5, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at Woodruff Arts Center. Mr. Hamelin is a Grammy-nominated artist and has soloed around the country at venues such as New York's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
Guest Conductor Hugh Wolff will return to lead the Orchestra in a program that also features the ASO premiere of Dances from Thomas Adès's Powder Her Face and Schumann's Symphony No. 1, "Spring" - an ode to Schumann's marriage to the love of his life.
These performances will mark Mr. Wolff's sixth appearance with the Orchestra.
