MUSICALS SUCK, The Musical Plays Dad's Garage, 6/8-30

MUSICALS-SUCK-The-Musical-Plays-Dads-Garage-68-20010101

On Friday, June 8th at 8pm Dad's Garage Theatre is premiering a brand new piece of musical theatre that everyone is bound to love… everyone except for Sydney, that is.

Sydney (Whittney Millsap) has finally found the man of her dreams, Chuck (Z. Gillispie). There's just one problem: he loves musical theatre and she can't stand the stuff. Unfortunately, on the night Chuck is planning to propose, Sydney mouths off to a gypsy about her distaste for her lover's passion, she is cursed and her actual life becomes a musical! To escape this living hell she must learn to sing and dance her way to freedom. Can Sydney overcome her aversion to show tunes and snazzy dance numbers? Or will she be trapped in this meta-musical world forever?

The Cast: Karen Cassady, Z. Gillispie, Rueben Medina, Whittney Millsap, Chris Rittelmeyer, and Gina Rickicki

Bonus Fact: Travis Sharp wrote The Change: Another Teenage Werewolf Musical and co-wrote Song of the Living Dead. Eric Frampton did the music for both.

Musicals Suck, The Musical is directed by Chris Craddock & Kevin Gillese and written by Travis Sharp & Kevin Gillese with music by Eric Frampton. The show runs June 8th – June 30th (Thurs. – Sat. @ 8pm on the Main Stage) with "Pay What You Can Night" set for Monday, June 18th @ 8pm.

Founded in 1995, Dad's Garage Theatre Company has grown from a small volunteer led organization to a thriving mid-size theatre led by professional artistic and administrative staff that includes over 300 volunteers and performers. We now entertain more than 30,000 people each year at our two-theatre facility in Inman Park, public events across the state, and at improv festivals across the continent. In addition to outrageous original productions, Dad's Garage produces improv shows 52 weeks per year, educates young improvisers in a year-round high school outreach program, and facilitates onsite classes and workshops for the general public. The mission of Dad's Garage is to engage, cultivate and inspire artists and audiences alike by producing innovative, scripted and improvised works that are recognized locally, nationally and internationally for being undeniably awesome
