Horizon Theatre Company will present two holiday-themed shows this December.
First up, a reprise of the outrageous holiday comedy The Santaland Diaries written by NPR comic genius David Sedaris and directed by Jeff Adler. With more holiday sneer than cheer, this rebel without a Claus recounts the true-life tale of an out of work writer who must take a job as a Macy’s Department Store elf.
The Santaland Diaries runs from November 23 through December 30. Tickets start at $25 with VIP tickets available for an additional $15. Performances are Tuesday-Friday at 8PM, Saturday at 8:30PM, and Sunday at 6PM.
Horizon will also present Madeline's Christmas, based on the book by Ludwig Bemelmans and directed by Spring Mason. This family-friendly musical has a book and lyrics by Jennifer Kirkeby and music by Shirley Mier.
“In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines lived twelve little girls in two straight lines,” begins the story of Madeline. This holiday season will be unlike any other for Madeline and her friends. While on their morning walk with Miss Clavel, the girls come down with the flu, and as they take to their bed, many wonder if they will be able to go home for Christmas. With the arrival of a mysterious stranger, Madeline and the other girls get a holiday adventure beyond their wildest dreams.
Madeline's Christmas runs from December 8 through December 30. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for children.
Performances on Saturdays and Sundays are at 1PM and 3:30PM. Special school day matinees are offered on Tuesday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 12 at 10:30AM. The rest of the run has the following schedule:
Monday, December 10 at 6:30 PM
Monday, December 17 at 1 PM, 3:30 PM, & 6:30 PM
Tuesday-Friday, December 18-21, 1 PM & 3:30 PM
Monday, December 24 at 1 PM & 3:30 PM
