Free-Acting-Class-at-Theater-in-the-Square-20010101On Saturday, September 10, 2011, Theatre in the Square will open the doors to any who has ever thought they have what it takes to be on stage for a FREE acting class. We will be offering the free one-hour class for ages 7-15 at 10 a.m. and for ages 16 and up at 11:30 a.m. Participants are in for a real treat as the free class will take place on the Main Stage at Theatre in the Square. Anyone who attends the free class can have the $25 application fee waived for the fall classes by registering after the free class. Education Director Susan Reid will be on site to facilitate any questions. Registration is free, but required by 12 noon on Friday, September 9, 2011. Class for ages 7-11 will take place September 17- November 5 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. In Production Explosion, Jr. Aladdin, our youngest students will put on a production of a classic story. Students will gain valuable experience as they spend time rehearsing, crafting costumes, and helping with set pieces. Every student will have a role as the lively and colorful story of Aladdin is brought to life.

Class for ages 12-16 takes place September 17 - November 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Our T-Square Teen Company: Acting Fundamentals is for teens taking the first step towards an acting career and those who are looking for a basic training refresher to help land that next big role. Students will use a series of monologues and scenes to strengthen their acting and vocal skills. The class will end with a final performance featuring the students own work on our Alley Stage.
Class for adults (ages 18+) will take place September 26 - November 14 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (no class on October 31). In the Adult Acting Class, students learn the building blocks and techniques used by professional actors and get the tools to navigate the world of show business including headshots, resumes, auditions and more.

All classes will take place at Theatre in the Square. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for registration. For more information or to register for classes, call Susan Reid at 770-422-8369 or e-mail her at susan@theatreinthesquare.com.
